If you are a university interested in participating, we would appreciate your help identifying an appropriate K-12 school in your community. Although there may be exceptions here and there, we are targeting K-12 schools to serve as Collection Centers. Thanks for your assistance and understanding.
The basic scoop on participating as a FUNDRED Collection Center is a willingness to do the following:
1. Receive FUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS that are produced and transmitted to you from others in your region. We now have 51 Collection Centers in 31 states; there will be more to come!
2. Store FUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS that are sent to you. "Store" simply means that you have a box (e.g. a banker's box) to stack the FUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS, as they are received, in a safe place.
3. Account for the FUNDRED DOLLAR BILLS that you have collected. Simply count the bills received and report this information; collectively the accounting will confirm the goal, 300 million FUNDRED DOLLARS, has been reached and trigger the armored truck's departure for the pick-up sometime in 2008!
4. Collect 15-20 gallons of used vegetable oil to fuel the truck's converted diesel engine. Technical Note: Used oil from fry cookers in the cafeteria or restaurants are excellent sources. It should be collected one month in advance to allow settling. We will let you know the target date when we get closer.
